About Koppers Holdings
Koppers Holdings Inc. (Koppers Holdings) is an integrated provider of carbon compounds and commercial wood treatment products. The Company's products are used in a variety of applications in a range of end markets, including the aluminum, railroad, specialty chemical, utility, rubber, and steel industries. It operates two principal business segments: Carbon Materials & Chemicals and Railroad & Utility Products. Through its Carbon Materials & Chemicals business, the Company processes coal tar into a variety of products, including carbon pitch, creosote, naphthalene and phthalic anhydride, which are intermediate materials necessary in the production of aluminum, the pressure treatment of wood, the production of high-strength concrete, and the production of plasticizers and specialty chemicals. Through its Railroad & Utility Products business, it supplies railroad crossties to the North American railroads.
